I've been passing by there over a year and wanted to try it out but they always closed. So today I'm off of work and decided to stop. Glad I did. It's exactly the kind of place I've been looking for. I got hamburger plate with onion rings, chicken strips and cheese sticks. It was good. They use ground beef and not the frozen pattys. It has the home cook food also. Definitely will be coming there more often. I'm not from Hickory Tavern but the Cafe has that small town everyone knows everyone feel. Like you coming to your friends house to eat. Co

Excellent Sunday food today! 7/2024 Turkey and dressing wonderful! The potato salad, bestest around! Finally fixed correctly , with enough mayo, and not lumpy or dry! Thanks to all. I give every one 5 stars!!!! S. Davenport

We all three had fried chicken and here is the list of sides: potato salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, fried okra, lemon cake, chocolate cake and carrot cake. You definitely can’t go wrong with them. Thank you

Awesome place, good food, good price. Literally walking distance from our house. Sizeable portions, excellent variety, especially with the hot bar. Unassuming from the outside, it truly surprises and in a good way. Definitely worth the drive if you're further out, but we locals love to just walk there.Highly recommend the Onion Rings, the batter is so tasty, can't get enough, and I also like the Patty Melt, I get it often.

I love little places like this. They have steak night on Saturday I believe. A good steak dinner for about 20 after tax....good service and little salad bar and everything. Not bad at all.
